Frequently asked questions
What does the AI watermark remover take out?
Everything AI chat apps leave in copied text: hidden characters such as zero-width spaces and the narrow no-break spaces (U+202F) found in some ChatGPT answers, citation leftovers like :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} and citeturn0search3, utm_source=chatgpt.com tags on links, markdown asterisks and # headings, em dashes and curly quotes. Switch any of them off under the boxes, and open What changed to see each fix where it was made. The joiners that emoji and scripts like Hindi and Persian need are kept. For the details, read how to remove hidden characters from ChatGPT text.
Can it remove the Claude or ChatGPT watermark?
No, and no cleaner can. Claude (models released since August 2, 2026), ChatGPT in the EU (from October 2026) and Gemini mark text through word choice, not characters, so the mark survives cleaning, copying and retyping. Changing the wording is what weakens it: in one OpenAI test, swapping 10% of words for synonyms cut detection from about 92% to 66%. If the wording needs to change, rewrite it yourself or with the Humanizer. We do not promise any tool beats a watermark or a detector. Read what the Claude and ChatGPT watermarks mean and whether you can remove an AI watermark at all.
Is my text uploaded or saved?
No. Cleaning runs in your browser as you type, so your text never reaches Write It and is not stored. It is free, with no sign-up and no limit, and keeps working offline once the page has loaded. Like most websites, the page loads analytics that can see a visit, not what you typed.
