Introducing Research Mode
Research Mode
A new end-to-end research workflow built into Write It. Configure your citation style (MLA, APA, Chicago) and course lens (AP Research, AP Seminar), then move between three sub-tabs — Source Discovery, Library, and Research Agent — to go from a blank doc to a cited paper without leaving Google Docs.
Source Discovery (sub-tab)
Type your topic or question and get a list of AI-suggested sources tailored to your research settings. Skim, open, and keep the ones that fit — the keepers flow straight into your Library.
Library (sub-tab)
A per-document source manager where everything you've saved lives. Review what you've collected, remove what doesn't fit, and select which sources feed into your Works Cited or your Research Agent runs. Libraries stay scoped per project so papers don't bleed into each other.
Research Agent (sub-tab) — Plus / Premium
Let Apollo handle the heavy lifting. The Research Agent reads every source in your Library, runs Deep Research to pull in academic papers and journals on demand, and drafts a structured, cited paper directly inside your Google Doc — aligned to AP Seminar or AP Research rubrics when those modes are on.
One-Click Works Cited
Pick sources from your Library, generate a properly formatted bibliography in your chosen style, and insert it straight into your Google Doc. Spacing, indentation, and formatting stay consistent with your settings.
