Short answer: it depends what the homework is. "Homework" covers four different problems and the tool that solves one is usually useless for the others. Find yours below.
If the homework is something you have to write
Essays, reading responses, lab write-ups, research papers, discussion posts. This is the biggest category and the one where a tool saves the most time.
Write It is a Chrome extension that runs inside Google Docs, so it works on the document you are actually handing in rather than in a separate tab you copy out of. It plans and drafts, finds sources and builds a Works Cited, checks grammar and clarity as you type, and types text into the doc keystroke by keystroke instead of pasting it. There is a free tier and it does not need a card.
For written homework

If you are stuck on a math or science problem
Photomath. Point your camera at the problem and it breaks the solution into steps with an explanation of each. Free tier covers most problem types, and it is genuinely the fastest way to find where your own working went wrong.
If you would rather actually learn it, Khanmigo is built deliberately so that it does not hand over answers — ask for the solution and it asks you a question back. Slower, and much better for the exam.
If you have to memorize something
Vocabulary, dates, formulas, terminology. Anki is free, open source, and spaced repetition is one of the better-supported findings in learning research. Quizlet is friendlier and has a huge library of sets other students already made — check them for errors before trusting one.
If you just do not understand the concept
ChatGPT, and how you ask decides whether it helps. "Solve this" produces an answer you learned nothing from. "I got x = 4, the answer key says 6, where did I go wrong" produces an explanation you can use.
Ask it to explain the same thing three different ways if the first one does not land. That is a thing it is unusually good at and most people never try.
The honest caveat
Every tool here can be used to finish homework without learning anything, and if you do that you will find out during the exam. The version of this that works is using them to get unstuck faster, not to skip the part where you think.
